You can have more than a full day when exploring on one of our RIBs! GoMojo is located on St. Thomas at Sapphire Beach Marina. You will begin your day leaving out of our marina and either heading straight across to Cruz Bay or take the calmer "barrier run" when winds are a bit stronger. Either way, we watch the weather constantly and will always advise our guests of better days if possible. Once across to the shoreline of STJ, you usually will head to your Northern most point first. If you're big into snorkeling, we suggest all the way to Waterlemon Cay and then work your way back. That way, for the rest of the day the wind and swell are with you. Waterlemon has great snorkeling around the cay and on the right side of the cay looking out towards BVI. You can follow the swim buoys on the bottom edge of Waterlemon and they will lead you directly to your dinghy mooring on the bottom right corner of the cay.
Working your way down from Waterlemon, you have Francis and Maho Bay which are sister bays and turtle sanctuaries. Maho is the busier side of the two and has food/restrooms and more visitors on this side. We suggest you navigate slowly towards the dinghy moorings here as there are lots of snorkelers and lots of turtles! This is a super easy place to start your morning if you're not super crazy about snorkeling as it is family friendly and protected from most short squalls and winds.
Next on the way down, we have Peter Bay and Little Cinnamon which are more secluded. There are no channel markers here but the dinghy moorings are located up close right where Peter ends and Little Cinnamon begins. This is where you go when you want to have the place all to yourselves. Little Cinnamon is one of our favorite stops of the day to get away from crowds and soak up the scenery.
Heading South from there, you will come across Trunk Bay! Trunk has been voted one of the top ten beaches in the world and it does not disappoint. Trunk also offers food, drinks and restrooms and has an underwater snorkeling trail. Johnson's Reef is located across from Trunk in deeper water and is surrounded by yellow buoys. The buoys are there to guide you to stay out of the area...we cannot stop here with the boats.
Next up is my favorite spot in the whole area, Hawksnest! This is a nature, snorkel, beach spot only. There is no food but the marine life is amazing. Smaller turtles hang out here and come right up to the boat. We've also seen stingrays, octopus, groupers and I swam with dolphins here...which is probably why it's my favorite! Mermaid's Chair is located on the left hand side as you're coming into Hawksnest and is a beautiful photo op and chill spot at low tide.
Scott Beach and Caneel Bay are next and do not offer dinghy moorings here; however, there are larger, single white mooring balls that you can hook up to if it's not busy. Those are typically reserved for the day charter Captains but if you see a ton available, go ahead. These are not close to shore but the water there is gorgeous and you can often see turtles surfacing all around you. We usually reserve this area for our "Sunday Cruise" section...going along slowly and taking in the sights.
Honeymoon Beach is down from there and is equally beautiful. Shockingly, we have received many dolphin sightings in this area so keep a look out. Honeymoon offers food, drinks and restrooms as well and is a super boater friendly beach to moor up to. Caneel Bay Beach Club has opened up at Honeymoon and has an incredible menu and options for cabanas and beach chairs should you want to partake. Many guests will end their day here of they do not want to go to The James' or Cruz Bay as it is a straight shot back over to Sapphire.
After Honeymoon, you will come across Cruz Bay (the National Park Dock and People Ferry side) are open for tying up to. This is the town of STJ and has everything you would need. You can start your day here with breakfast or provisions or have lunch and drinks later on in the day. Rum Hut and Beach Bar are a couple of our favorite spots here.
Lovango Beach Resort is across from Honeymoon and also the last barrier island you will pass if you take the calmer route over. Lovango has an upscale vibe and offers fantastic food and drinks. Shopping at boutiques is a nice change of pace as well as the day pass should you want to do something special for your boat day. Lovango Beach Club Pass
Lastly, we have Great and Little St. James which are South of us at Sapphire. The route to get over there is described as such...from Cruz Bay, act like you are heading back to us (red roofs from the water)....just long enough to clear Stephen's Cay. Stephen's is a small islet right before Cruz so you'll clear it quickly. As soon as you're past Stephen's, you can then head South towards Christmas Cove (Great St. James) which has Pizza Pi...the floating Pizza sailboat and then around from there is Little St. James. Christmas Cove is a super family friendly spot and has a sunken sailboat on the left side as you enter that has turned into a pretty cool artificial reef. To view the menu from Pizza Pi click here: Pizza Pi VI Menu
This obviously is a just a suggested route and we will go over this together before you take off. Guests are welcome to navigate to wherever they want in our area whenever they want. We have found that going against the wind in the morning is the most comfortable route which is why it is described here. We do have some wiggle room as far as Cowpet, Lindqvist and Congo and will discuss these if you are interested. Hope this helps and we look forward to your boat day with GoMojoVI!
